Punctuality is the foundation of hauling. We arrive on time, complete our pre- and post-trip inspections within their window, and keep the load moving within cycle.
Our goal is to reduce waste in all its forms — material, resource, time, and money. Clean, lean, and green practices throughout our operations.
We invest in the latest dispatch and GPS tracking technology so every project stakeholder has real-time visibility.
Professional conduct, clear communication, and a commitment to excellence — not just meeting standards, but setting them.
From pneumatic dry bulk hauling and glass cullet recycling to rail transloading across our four-terminal network, Recycle Waste Services delivers end-to-end logistics with the fleet, technology, and expertise to move your materials on time, every time.
We are a third-generation family business — and that shapes everything about how we operate. The reliability instilled by Sylvester Materials and the do-what-it-takes urgency of Stansley Industries aren't talking points. They're the culture we grew up in and the standard we hold ourselves to every day.
The partnerships we've built are with companies that understand this. They know we'll show up, communicate, and treat their needs with the same seriousness we want for our own. That's the only kind of partnership worth having.
About Recycle Waste Services
A transportation company headquartered in Sylvania, Ohio — rooted in Midwestern values, driven by relationships, and built to last.
"Three generations of family ownership. The reliability of Sylvester Materials. The urgency of Stansley Industries. That's the foundation Recycle Waste Services is built on — and it's what we bring to every partnership we build."— The RWS Family Legacy
Our Story
Recycle Waste Services is a third-generation family business — and that means something around here. The values, the work ethic, and the belief that your word is your bond weren't written into a mission statement. They were passed down. Through long days, hard seasons, and the kind of experience that only comes from actually doing the work over decades.
Our history runs through two companies that shaped who we are. Sylvester Materials gave us our foundation — the discipline, the systems, and the steady growth that comes from running a transportation business with care and consistency over the long haul. From that foundation grew a reputation worth protecting.
Stansley Industries brought something else: urgency. The kind of do-what-it-takes attitude that you can't train into people — it either runs in the culture or it doesn't. At Stansley, the answer was always to find a way. That instinct is still very much alive at RWS today.
Recycle Waste Services carries both of those legacies forward. The reliability and long-view thinking of Sylvester. The urgency and adaptability of Stansley. Together, they make up a business that customers can count on not just for a season, but for the long term.
Headquartered in Sylvania, Ohio, we've expanded our reach to include terminals in Southwest Michigan, Tennessee, and the Dallas Metro area of Texas — growing not by chasing volume, but by deepening the relationships that matter. Word travels when a company consistently delivers on its promises.
Our Values
We are sales people at heart. That means we listen, we follow through, and we understand that a customer's trust is something earned — not assumed. We want to work with people who feel the same way.
When we say we'll do something, we do it. If something goes wrong, we own it, fix it, and learn from it. That's the only way to build the kind of trust that lasts through the hard days as well as the easy ones.
We want to work with customers who respect us as much as we respect them — and their customers too. That mutual respect is what turns a transaction into a partnership. It's what makes both sides want to pick up the phone the next time there's an opportunity.
That means our drivers, our partners, and the communities we operate in. We don't treat people as resources. We treat them as neighbors — because in many cases, that's exactly what they are.
Services & Capabilities
50+ trucks. 200+ trailers. Rail transloading. Four terminals. IRP permitted from 80,000 to 164,000 lbs — we are a complete logistics partner, not just a trucking company.
Our Services
Recycle Waste Services has grown beyond traditional trucking to offer a full suite of bulk logistics services. Through our expanding fleet, multi-terminal network, and rail transloading capabilities, we can serve as your single logistics partner from origin to delivery — regardless of how complex the move is.
We receive bulk commodities by rail at our terminal locations and transfer them into our truck fleet for regional distribution — giving customers the cost efficiency of rail with the flexibility of truck delivery.
Leverage our four-terminal network to move and redistribute bulk materials across our operating radius. We coordinate the full logistics chain — inbound rail or truck, terminal storage, outbound delivery — as one managed service.
Pressurized tanker transport for fly ash, cement, mineral dust, and fine dry bulk materials. Clean, precise offloading directly to silos and storage systems at customer facilities.
High-volume aggregate transport with gravel train and MAC end-dump configurations. Built for high-cycle quarry, mine, and construction routes across the Midwest.
Specialized transport of crushed recycled glass (cullet) from collection and processing sites to end-use facilities. A core part of our recycling logistics services since day one.
Roll-off bins and straight truck service for site cleanup, material handling, and project-specific needs. Flexible equipment configurations for whatever the job requires.
Our Fleet
Our expanding fleet of Western Star truck tractors and straight trucks is built for the varied demands of Midwest and regional hauling. Every unit is maintained to an internal standard that goes beyond DOT requirements — because clean, reliable equipment reflects a company you can count on.
Trailer Types
We match the right equipment to every project. Whether it's a pneumatic tanker for fly ash, a gravel train for high-volume aggregate work, or a roll-off bin for a specific site need — we have the configuration and the experience to get it done.
Purpose-built for fly ash, cement, glass cullet, and other fine dry bulk materials. These pressurized tankers offload pneumatically — clean, efficient, and precise.
High-capacity aggregate hauling with gravel train and conveyor belt trailer configurations. Ideal for high-cycle quarry, mine, and construction aggregate routes.
Our roll-off fleet — including SWAT-equipped Western Star straight trucks — supports a wide range of project and site needs. Versatile, dependable, and operator-ready.
IRP permitted and experienced with oversize load requirements. We run standard 80,000 lb loads up to 164,000 lb in-state permitted hauls in Michigan — with the licensing and knowledge to do it right.
Rail Logistics
For customers shipping bulk materials over long distances, rail offers a cost-effective alternative to over-the-road trucking. The challenge is that most end-use facilities aren't rail-served. That's where RWS comes in.
Through our terminal network in Ohio, Michigan, Tennessee, and Texas, we receive inbound rail shipments and transfer materials into our truck fleet for delivery to final destinations within our operating radius. This gives customers the economic advantage of rail for the long haul and the flexibility of truck for local delivery — all managed through a single point of contact.
Your bulk material arrives by rail at one of our terminal locations. Our team unloads the rail car — whether by pneumatic transfer for dry bulk, or direct loading for aggregates — and stages the material for outbound truck delivery on your schedule. We coordinate inbound and outbound timing so your supply chain keeps moving without unnecessary dwell or delay.
| Material | Transfer Method | Delivery Equipment |
|---|---|---|
| Fly Ash & Industrial Dust | Pneumatic rail car unloading to tanker | Pneumatic dry bulk tankers |
| Glass Cullet (Crushed Recyclables) | Direct load from rail to trailer | End-dump, belt trailers |
| Aggregates & Crushed Stone | Gondola or hopper unload | Gravel trains, MAC end-dumps |
| Dry Bulk Commodities | Pneumatic or gravity transfer | Pneumatic tankers, specialty trailers |
| Project & Specialty Materials | Case by case | Roll-off, flatbed, or configured to need |
Glass Cullet Hauling
Hauling glass cullet (crushed recycled glass) to processing facilities is one of our most important service lines — and one we take seriously. These aerial photos from one of our active glass sites show the scope of what our team manages on the ground every day.
Technology
We run the latest safety and dispatch technology across our entire fleet — real-time GPS monitoring, truck tracking, and communication tools that give every project stakeholder visibility into where their loads are and when to expect them.
This isn't just about efficiency. It's about trust. When you can see exactly where your freight is, you don't have to wonder. That's the kind of transparency we think every customer deserves.

Our History
Every relationship we've built, every load we've delivered, and every terminal we've opened is part of a story grounded in honest work and Midwestern values.
"Three generations of family ownership have taught us that a company's greatest asset isn't its fleet or its contracts — it's the trust it has earned, one haul at a time."— The RWS Family Legacy
The RWS Timeline
The story of Recycle Waste Services begins with Sylvester Materials — a transportation and logistics operation built on the principles that still define this company today. Reliability. Consistency. The understanding that customers don't just need a truck, they need a partner they can count on. Sylvester Materials established that reputation across the region, and it became the bedrock on which everything that followed was built.
Stansley Industries brought a different kind of energy to the family's transportation legacy — urgency, adaptability, and a do-what-it-takes culture that runs deeper than any policy manual. When something needed to get done, Stansley found a way. That instinct to act, to adapt, and to push through difficulty without losing sight of the customer became a defining characteristic of how this family does business.
Recycle Waste Services was established in Sylvania, Ohio as the natural evolution of a third-generation family transportation business. Drawing on the stability of Sylvester Materials and the urgency of Stansley Industries, RWS was built to carry those qualities into a new era — with a focus on bulk commodity logistics, recycling transport, and the kind of long-term customer relationships that only come from decades of doing business the right way.
With a focused fleet of Western Star tractors and a clear service identity, RWS built out its core capabilities — glass cullet recycling transport, pneumatic dry bulk hauling, and aggregate logistics. Growth was deliberate: never faster than the company's ability to maintain its standards of driver quality, equipment reliability, and customer service. The fleet expanded because the relationships earned it.
As sister company facilities grew and customer needs expanded, RWS opened terminals in Southwest Michigan, Tennessee, and the Dallas Metro area of Texas. Four locations, one standard — the same reliability and professionalism our Ohio customers had come to expect, extended across a broader operating radius with full rail transloading capabilities at each terminal.
Today, Recycle Waste Services operates an expanding fleet of more than 50 truck tractors and straight trucks, supported by over 200 trailers and roll-off bins and a rail transloading network spanning four terminals. The operation has grown considerably — but it's still a family business, still run on the values passed down through three generations, and still defined by the belief that a good reputation is the most valuable thing a company can have.
Safety at RWS
At Recycle Waste Services, safety isn't a checkbox. It's a value we hold because we care about our drivers, our partners, and everyone who shares the road with us.
Safety at Recycle Waste Services begins before the truck starts. Our drivers conduct thorough pre-trip inspections at the start of every shift and post-trip inspections at the end — not because it's required, but because a driver who goes home safe is the whole point of everything we do.
We've built a culture where safety concerns are welcomed, not silenced. Any driver who identifies an issue with equipment or route conditions is empowered to raise it without fear. We'd rather delay a load than risk a person.
We back this up with the latest in-cab safety technology and real-time GPS monitoring across our entire fleet — giving our team and our customers full visibility into operations at all times.
Safety Practices
Pre- and post-trip inspections are non-negotiable. Every driver completes a full equipment check before and after every run, every day.
Our entire fleet is tracked in real time. Dispatch can see every truck, every route — improving safety and communication for all parties.
Ongoing training keeps our drivers current on best practices, regulatory changes, and safety procedures. We invest in our people because they are the company.
Drivers are encouraged to speak up. Safety concerns are treated with urgency and appreciation — never dismissed or penalized.
We meet every federal and state requirement — and then set a higher bar for ourselves. Compliance is the floor, not the ceiling.
A rigorous maintenance schedule keeps our fleet performing at its best. We address issues before they become problems — for our drivers and our customers.
